Both Jared Resnick, founder and CEO of Precision Fermentation, and Pål Ingebrigtsen, cofounder of PLAATO, used that phrase when explaining why they started their respective companies.
“Fermentation hasn’t changed in centuries,” says Resnick, whose own background is in science and genetics. When he started talking to brewers about fermentation data, he knew immediately that there was an opportunity to improve what was available.
“Brewers are scientists,” he says. “They all talk about getting better, and they are receptive to using data to improve their brewing.”
